Composer/Lyricist: Ken Mazur

Currently scoring Travelscope for PBS, TV,  Ken Mazur has performed on over fifty albums as a session guitarist with artists such as Robert Palmer, Tina Tuner, INXS, Mink Deville, Marvin Gaye, Kid Creole, The O Jays,  Herbie Mann, Ben E King, The Paul Winter Consort, and Candi Staton.  He toured with Robert Palmer and Mink Deville and appeared on Broadway with Twyla Tharp as well as the musical’ Gotta Go Disco’.  Ken’s jingle writing credits include Chevy Truck, McDonalds, AT&T, Nintendo, Honda and Russel Athletics.

Writing from his studio in Topanga California, Ken scored the Discovery Channel Program, ‘Biker Build Off’ from 2004 to 2007. His TV work includes the feature length documentaries ‘Studio 54′ and ‘Woodstock’ for Behind the Music,VH1, One Day At A Time Reunion, CBS, the comedy series ‘Manhattan AZ’ for USA Network,  the series ‘Comics on Delivery” for Comedy Central, the series ‘Lost and Found’ for FX and the theme song for NBC’s tv special, ‘Dinosaurs Larger than Life.’

Ken’s movie credits include “the Uninvited,” “The Rose Technique”, starring Jo Beth Williams, ‘Lucky’ and ‘Pros and Cons’. He also contributed music to “Nim’s Island,” and ”The Search for Intelligent Life in the Universe.” Among his other credits are the documentary ‘Voices from the Attic’, documentary winner of the NY film Festival, and the short film, ‘Cat and Mousse’, nominated for best prize at Cannes. Ken has also won three Tellly Awards.

In 2005 Ken wrote the music and lyrics for a children’s musical, “Precious Piglet and Her Pals”, which won the LA 2005 ADA Award for Best Music, Lyrics and Book for an original children’s musical.

Ken’s Topanga activities include 17 years as the CFO, webmaster  and  handyman for Topanga Animal Rescue.  He is a board member for Topanga Association for a Scenic Community and volunteers as a music teacher at Topanga Elementary.  Ken has three children and is married to Susan A. Clark.

Carrol Mendelson

Co-wrote and produced an earlier production of “Rachel & Julio” starring Lainie Kazan and Joe Bologna. She Wrote and produced Precious Piglet and Her Pals which won the LA ADA 2005 regional award for best original children’s musical.  She created a pilot for a children’s television series called “Bellyville and The Barnyard Bunch”, and wrote and produced the drama “Imperfect Seed” which premiered in Los Angeles as a theater production, and is currently in development as a screenplay.  Co-produced Mariette Hartley’s one woman show “If You Get to Bethlehem You’ve Gone Too Far”.  She was president of Carrel Productions where she wrote and produced original material. She is currently involved in producing “Power of Purpose”, a film dealing with the rebirth and renewal of the human spirit. Carrol has a musical “Borscht Belt Bistro” in development, as well as The Charlie Chansky musical mystery series. Her book “Mirror Mirror” based on a true story is currently in publication.
